LinkedIn to add games from Zynga

How did we not see this coming?

After years of clogging up your Facebook feed, social gaming will soon be
part of LinkedIn. Zynga, the company that gave us Farmville, has
partnered with LinkedIn to develop games exclusively for the site.

You might not be happy about it, but don’t bother contacting LinkedIn.
Apparently, according to the productivity site Lifehacker’s
post, “LinkedIn may terminate Zynga critic’s accounts.”

Really, LinkedIn? You know members aren’t going to like this, and this
is how you respond? Is that how it’s going to be?

Listen, I’m not a killjoy. I like games as much as anyone. There’s a place
for that kind of stuff, though, and it isn’t LinkedIn. Users want
only content that’s aligned with LinkedIn’s mission and their work.
Other than the occasional irrelevant status update, they’re use to seeing
little other than that. This changes everything.

So, what can we do about it? Not much, I guess. I’m probably going to
delete my account and spend more time on Facebook and Twitter. Not
as I would like, but I guess I don’t have a choice.

Your thoughts? What do you think of this change?
